The turnout for the 2010 reunion was fantastic. Approximately 20 ex-swimmers and their families attend the organised events.
Below is a rogue's gallery of ex-swimmers.Click here to enlarge the photograph

Game of golf:
Cancelled due to lack of interest.
Meet and Greet at the Hideaway: 4pm - 6pm
We had our own private area where we could eat pizza and drink beer. There was a great deal of hugging and shaking hands as old friends arrived.
The place was packed and the beer flowed. Dave Sonnenburg arrived and the stories started to roll thick and fast. At one time I was convinced that he had actually swam in the Olympics!!!
It was hard to imagine that a year had passed since we last met. All the old stories came out and the phrase "do you remember" could be heard all round the room.
It was so good to see old friends again and the 2 hours passed all too quickly.
Then it was off for the group picture.
Group Photo in front of Old Central: 6pm - 6:30pm
All those who turned up to the Hideaway then walked over to Old Central and a professional photographer took a photograph of the "usual suspects" - phrase from the film Casablanca starring Humphrey Bogart.
Campus walk about: 7pm - 9pm
In the evening we broke into small groups and walked around campus looking at the Homecoming floats. The campus was hopping and everybody enjoyed the festivities.
Hot Links Gig: 9pm - 12pm
Well, this was one of two "Piece de resistances" (Piggy this means "the best part") of the weekend. The other was the 500yd swimming race.
The gig was held at the old Harley Roadhouse shop at 3512 S Boomer Road.
The band comprised of Dave Biddick - lead guitar, Ron "Woody" Woodburn AKA "The Nub" on drums, Tom Allen on Rhythm guitar, Bill Allen lead singer, flute player, Sax player, Announcer et al and some blonde madman name Tom Grula on base.
The boys hadn't played together for over 40 years but you wouldn't have known it.
There was music and beer aplenty all evening and the place rocked. We didn't hear a bum note all night. The band played all types of music and people were dancing and singing along with them. The night was a great success. Well done to the Hot Links.
Rumour has it that Simon Cowell was somewhere in the room and wants to get the band to play on "America has Talent". It maybe just a rumour though!
The band has agreed to play at the 2011 reunion and if you want to hear any of your favourite songs, send us an email and we will make sure it happens.

500yd race: 10:30am - 11:30am
We arrived at the pool and everybody was looking forward to the race. Scotty AKA The Wuss had dropped out. He used the excuse that he had to go organise the Commonwealth Games. Yea right!!! Wuss.
Two people threw down the gauntlet and challenged John Meyer AKA The Pig. The two "wannabes" were Jacques Cunningham and Kevin Andrew.
The Pig stipulated that if he had to be dragged out of the pool and given mouth-to-mouth he didn't do tongues.
The scene was set. There were no starting blocks so all three stood in the water. When Official starter Tom Grula AKA "the mad base player" said 1-2-3 go all three pushed off.
We thought John Meyer was going to swim the whole way under water because there was nothing but bubbles coming up from his lane. After the race John admitted he was nervous and that he had had wind.
Jacques surfaced first (no sign of The Pig only bubbles in his lane) and he immediately broke into the butterfly. We were astounded - was he going to do fly all the way? But no, after one length and some Oxygen from the standby Oxygen cylinder he reverted to freestyle.
All three turned together (the Pig had surfaced, but his lane was still erupting with bubbles). Jacques started to fade, but Kevin and John were neck and neck. And then the Pig started to pull away.
We all agreed that something had to be done to stop The Pig or we wouldn't hear the last of it. We threw pull-boys at him. We even tried a few turn stoppers, but no he kept going.
Bets were being placed and large amounts of money changed hands. The smart money was betting that nobody finished.
All three did finish in very respectful times. 1st - John Meter 6:57 2nd - Jacques Cunningham 7:13 2nd - Kevin Andrew 7:37 (by the way the first number is hours, not minutes)
To all three - a hearty well done!
Everybody said how much they had enjoyed the race, so much so that it was proposed that at the 2011 reunion we would hold mixed relay races. Boys and girls with four members to each team - distance to be decided. There would also be another 500yd race and hopefully this time the Aussies will turn up. Yea right!!!
After the race we had another group photo taken. This one by the pool side. See picture below.

O-Club meal: 12:30 - 2:00pm
The food was excellent and from the balcony we watched both teams warm up.
Football Game OSU vs Nebraska: 2:30pm
Unfortunately we lost. The score was 51-41 to Nebraska.
To add insult to injury we were surrounded by a bunch of Nebraska fans. However everyone was good natured and we had a lot of fun.
As we left the stadium Don Angle muttered something about Nebraska fans and what he would like to do with some corn cobs.
On Sunday there was no final gathering. Each of us went our own way. We had laughed together and had become reacquainted - the years had been pushed back. We left somewhat sad, but happy that we had attended.
During the swimming pool visit, all who were present agreed it would be nice to meet up again in 2011. The reunion committee was re-elected and duly tasked with making it happen.
